What is the root cause of children's poor resistance?
Why do children get sick easily? How can we improve their resistance? Is immunity the same as resistance?
In fact, many people's "resistance" is basically equivalent to the concept of "immunity" in medicine. Simply put, our immunity comes from the body's immune system, which is a defense system against foreign invaders and consists of many organs.
If our immune system can work properly, it is immune, if there are abnormalities, it is easy to get sick. Resistance is the ability of every system of the body to cooperate closely under the control of the central nervous system to ensure the normal progress of human life activities. Its scope is more extensive, and immunity is a very important part of it.
What is the effect of immunity? In the process of fighting against disease, human immunity plays a vital role. We can say that it is just like a health protection army formed by our body. It undertakes important defensive tasks when fighting against viruses and bacteria coming from outside.
Normally, you may not feel it, but when the human body is attacked, it will rise up against it. For example, when a cold or a small wound occurs, it can be cured without injections or medication, which is related to the repair function of the immune system. Tumor cells are produced all the time in the human body, but not everyone will get cancer. Why? Thanks to the powerful immune system. What happens if immunity decreases? The most direct manifestation is that it is easy to get sick. Therefore, if you want to keep your child healthy and healthy, it is crucial to regulate immunity.
What does immunity have to do with it? To be honest, most of our immunity depends on our genetic genes, but the impact of the environment is also great, such as diet, sleep, exercise, stress and so on. Among them, diet has a decisive influence, and nutritional factors play a very important role. It is the material basis for maintaining the normal immune function and health of the human body.
Children grow rapidly and metabolize vigorously, which is the most important period of healthy physical and mental development in life. Therefore, adequate and reasonable nutrition is essential for children's immunity throughout their life.
Basically, by the time each baby is born, the immune system is almost fully functional, and most importantly, they have immune antibodies from their mothers to ensure their basic health. However, after 6 months, the immune antibodies from the mother disappeared basically. At this time, because the level of immunoglobulin in the body is relatively low, the resistance to pathogenic factors is relatively low, so you may find that after 6 months, the baby is prone to diarrhea and cold and fever. This is because their immunity during this period is relatively low.
When the baby is 3 years old, their immune system, digestive system, respiratory system and so on are basically well developed, and their resistance is gradually enhanced, naturally, it is not so easy to catch a cold.
However, all children before the age of 6 belong to what is called "physiological immune dysfunction" in medicine. This also means that children before the age of 6 must pay special attention to nutrition. Nutrients closely related to our body's immune function are mainly protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, iron, zinc and selenium. Babies themselves do not choose food yet. Therefore, parents must pay attention to choosing foods rich in these nutrients for their children.
Some parents may think that since immunity is mainly inherited, we are both in such good health that our children will be in great health. Parents who think like this should pay attention to the fact that if the nutrition of infants and young children is unbalanced, whether it is lack or excess, it will interfere with the developing immune system and even change the expression of genetic genes. Not only will they continue to catch colds and minor illnesses when they are young, but also they may develop various immune diseases as adults, as well as chronic inflammatory diseases such as metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and so on.
Therefore, the child's nutrition is not only related to whether he is tall, intelligent or not, but also to the health of his life. Whether it is lack of calcium, zinc, iron, or vitamin A, vitamin D and so on, it may lead to malnutrition in children and decrease their resistance.
On the other hand, extreme things will turn against each other. Lack of nutrition is the key reason for children's poor resistance. Excess nutrition can also make children's poor resistance. For example, some babies are fed too often, and some muddled mothers feed their babies as soon as they cry, whether or not they exceed their needs. There are also parents who add too much supplementary food to their children, which makes them grow too fast and lack of exercise, which can easily lead to poor resistance. So, if you want to strengthen your child's resistance, nutrition is not much good.
If you want to enhance your child's immunity, the safest, most direct and effective way is to ask your child to take in enough nutrients every day, including water, grains, rhizomes, vegetables and fruits, legumes, eggs, milk, grease and so on. All kinds of food should be balanced as far as possible. Only in this way can children have a little bit of strong immunity, immune system every day for the rest of their lives.
